This publication of “Pioneer Girl” strongly suggests that without Lane, Wilder was a much different writer. I thought this was a great book because I learned about how she made the books and the class she taught that she invited her 4th grade class over to her house and they made cookies and one of the boys said he'd rather read her books than eat cookies.
